How long can an HDMI or component video cable set be without signal degredation?
I’ve heard that, generally, 5 meters is about as long it should be without some signal degradation. If you do need something longer, there are signal boosters that can help.

No idea about HDMI, but component cables can be quite long. With decent quality RG-6, you should be able to run them a couple hundred feet without difficulty.
