WESTPORT, CT (Reuters Health) - There is no evidence to link brain cancer with the use of handheld cellular phones, according to an expedited release from The New England Journal of Medicine, due for publication on January 11, 2001, and a report in the December 20th issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association.
According to the early NEJM release, Dr. Peter D. Inskip, of the National Cancer Institute, in Bethesda, Maryland, and associates compared analog cellular telephone use in 782 patients with brain tumors and 799 control subjects hospitalized for a variety of nonmalignant conditions.
"There was little or no indication of an increased risk of glioma, meningioma, or acoustic neuroma associated with any use, cumulative use, or the laterality of use of these telephones
The above would be interesting news for the high-tech crowd here. I am sure, not everyone will be convinced, but the researchers collect large statistical data…although somebody will always know someone who talked on the phone and got brain tumor…but they also ate tomatos…

Peace

<Ahhhhhhnold>It’s not a tumor!</Ahhhhhhnold>
