My wife and I are looking for an estate lawyer. We’re in Chicago and are looking for someone local. Anyone here have any experience or know someone qualified?
I don’t want to get into details here, obviously this is about an inheritance.
I don’t have any recommendations, but most state bar associations have a referral service where they will find someone reputable for you in your area.
Here’s the one for the Illinois Bar. You can call them or use their “find a lawyer” feature which let’s you drill down by practice area and locality.

We got the lawyer part covered but we’re looking for an accountant.

Does your lawyer not have recommendations for accountants? Some of my best referrals come from a few estate lawyers in my area, and I reciprocate when one my clients needs a legal specialist on the issues. The fact that I already have a good working relationship with the attorney is a plus for making things go smoothly.
