My mom is in her 70s and she was given a two-volume set of books by her mom. She’s trying to figure out what the books were.
What she knows:
“Do you remember a small two-volume book set I had that was from my mother? It was printed in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s and had a “dirty” gold hardcover. I remember the title as “Tarquisaris” or something similar. The story line was mystery/romance set in the late 1700"s maybe.”
"Aphra Behn’s The Fair Jilt, Or, The Amours of Prince Tarquin and Miranda (1688) is the story of a charming, daring, and determined lady who contemplates even murder to attain her love. It is all in vain, however, and her love transforms later into aggressive hatred. "
