How do you express melted tire thread tracks. I’ve read police reports in German. I’ve only found Reifenspuren. But what about melted rubber/tire thread tracks?

I think that would be Reifenabriebspuren.
I would say Reifenspuren in such a case as well. The word literally just means “tire tracks”, so it does not specifically imply melted rubber on tarmac, and it can also mean, for instance, the impressions left by tires in mud. But if it’s residue of rubber on tarmac, then I would still use the word Reifenspuren for that, and the tarmac context implies that they’re made of melted rubber. Or alternatively Bremsspuren (“braking tracks”), if they come from someone decelerating very hard.
If you really want to have the melted rubber association in there, you can maybe say Gummispuren (“rubber tracks”) - it’s not very commonly used (at least to my knowledge), but you can easily make up new compound words in German, so it wouldn’t be wrong, and people would definitely understand what you mean.
That’s a good one, actually; it definitely implies the melted rubber association. It sounds a bit formal to me - I wouldn’t use it in colloquial conversation. But it would be understood, and it carries the additional meaning over just Reifenspuren.
Thank you kk fusion and Schnitte but I’m still not sure which word Germans typically use for tire threads, even if it’s not part of the compound word for tire tracks. Is it Reifenprofil? Reifenverschleiß? Reifengewinde?
