Looking for a good website to purchase 18” X 24” 200 DPI or better stock photos.

Maybe I’m missing something, but none of the websites seem to let you search by size and quality, just subject matter. I’m looking for a high quality picture of Las Vegas for a single (non-commercial) printing. I’m more than willing to purchase one, but can’t seem to be able to find anything that meets my size and quality specifications.

Does anyone know of any photo websites where size and quality are search criteria?

(If I’m just being an idiot, feel free to point me in a different direction. This is something I know nothing about.)
Thank You

Is there a reason you’re not looking for posters?

The picture is going to be printed on wood

iStockphoto lets you filter by size like XXXL or XXL. Some of those will get to the number of pixels you want.

By my calculation you’re looking for an image of 18 megapixels or larger. There are numerous cameras out there that provide native images that large, but the selection will be more limited than images of 12 megapixels. (The resolution of most Nikon pro cameras from 2007 through 2011.)

My guess --based on one quick visit to an online “print on wood” service-- is that the image quality will be okay, but not spectacular. I suspect that a 10 or 12 megapixel image could be upsampled (in a pixel editing program) to 18mp and work just fine for a print on wood.

Find the picture you like best, and it will probably work fine even if it’s a little too small of a file.

Thanks for your help everyone,

I think the size filter on iStockphoto will be the best workaround. At least I can sort them by size and have a general idea prior to having to click on them.
