Looking for a Masjid near Lexington, NE

I am looking for a Masjid or Islamic Center near Lexington, Nebraska. The closest I have found so far is like two hours away.

There are a group of families there who have only been in the US for about 3 years and their children are in need of additional supports with their school work and their religious study.

Does anyone know of a Muslim community in Lexington? If there is not one, does anyone know of a none Muslim community that would be willing to help with the school situation?

I have spent all of about 2 nights in Nebraska 20 years ago, so I can’t help … except to say that if you try again asking for a “mosque” you might get more comprehension … I recognized the term “masjid” because I speak Indonesian, and the use of what I think of as an Indonesian word caught my attention and that’s what I’m doing in this thread.

Or maybe I’m completely off-base, I don’t know. Maybe in America they use the term “masjid” and I’m just clueless. Sorry if that’s the case. Good luck, anyway.

There’s an organization called the Muslim Community of South Central Nebraska in Kearney. This website has an email address and phone number they can be contacted at.

CairoCarol, the muslims that I know use the term Masjid when they refer to their mosque.
