Looking for a Wham-O toy

It was a metallic tube a few inches long and wide that supposedly flew through the air, spinning like a Frisbee. If throwed properly it would curve.

I remember the toy but not the name sorry. I saw a similiar product, made of plastic, at Books A Million. I decided that since I was never able to throw the metallic original, I should not spend the $8.99

Have you tried the Wham-O website ?

Try Googling “Turbo-tube”.

Thank you @blondebear!

That ad is priceless! Sounds like Dr. Quest pitching his latest invention to Congress.

Uh-oh, here comes Dr. Zin!

That was the first place I checked.

I thought you probably had, 'specially as there is no turbo tube on there, or
anything that looks like one !

I was hoping to find a viddie on You Tube to see how(if) it actually worked, but no luck.

Was it supposed to make that sound? If not, the heck with it!

Was it actually metal? Cuz if so, between this and Jarts, kids toys were fucking nuts in the 60s!

I don’t really know-it looked metallic in the commercial.

Impressive how the shape both guides it straight to the target, and also makes it curve.

Maybe if you shaped the ammo in the movie “Wanted” like the Turbo-Tube, having the bullets curve becomes a possibility?

They’ve remade them, though it might be flimsy.

Apparently, the original was plastic.
Wham-O Turbo-Tube. (icollector.com)

Hey, we had ten-foot high monkey bars over concrete (over hard-packed dirt in the more safety-conscious playgrounds), wooden swing seats, and metal sliding boards that got scorching hot in the sun. Lawn darts were relatively safe. Except for the variant we played where we stood on opposite sides of a thick hedge and chucked the darts blindly over the hedge - that could get gnarly.

Like playing “Battleship” with humans instead of plastic pieces.

As someone who played with those as a kid, they are plastic, they are fun, and with enough of a wrist snap you can get them to perform some interesting stunts.
