Looking for a WiFi thermostat

Hi all

I have a 15 year old WiFi thermostat which I was informed that their app will be sunsetted in May which after then it will just function from the thermostat itself and no longer will work with the app. This app/thermostat has some useful functions which I will seek out in my new thermostat which i find important and would like some advice if anything out there meets my needs which is based on the needs of a vacation house.

History as a glance on the app. The history needs to be easy to access on the app (not a web page) and go for at least a month, the 10 day history of the nest will not work, my old one holds the history for a year which is great.

It must have a low temp of at least 50F as this is for a backup heating system which would supplement the heat pump if it gets that cold.

Low temp alert, something I can set to warn me if the temp gets to a preset too low.

Loss of signal alert, if the thermostat goes off line I would need an alert.

Looking for one that is dependable however also cheap. Yes I will pay to get those features if needed but if there is a good model at a lower cost I’m all over it.

Thanks

I did a lot of searching for thermostats with more advanced features than my current 30?y old thermostat with a weekly program. (Honeywell Chronotherm IV).

my search parameters were:

  • talks to my combination boiler (heat/hot water)
  • runs completely on-premises (I do not want to need internet connection for heat) on my own hardware, that I own.
  • Some kind of web interface to make adjustments, aggregate gas and power consumption.

I did not find anything appealing.
Nest is right out (I do not like anything Google)
Other offerings also run on the manufacturers servers.

I do not fancy the DIY solutions, my wife and kids can’t troubleshoot those.

For now the old honeywell is still going strong:(

LOL sounds like I can give you mine after I replace it.

What is the current make and model number?
