I read a great story that was supposedly a soldier recounting the occurrences of a week or so in a haunted barracks in Germany. I have been googling fruitlessly for a few days looking for it =(
Essentially, this poor schlub gets sent to some remote duty station, it is winter, and there is a bare staffing of probably 8 or 10 including a nub lt. They are staying in a barracks that is remote, and was used by the SS in WW2, and is haunted. There is one room that is on the top floor that has some sort of murals painted on the walls, and a sub basement that apparently was a cache of stuff left behind. It is in several parts. I do remember that part of the story was that they tended to drink a lot, and generally all slept in the common room instead of alone in their assigned rooms. One of the sub plots is that the phone system is screwed up, and will randomly ring, and there is an indistinct voice talking on it. Another sub plot is that there are a number of other small buildings and bunkers around, and that the road to get to the post is long and windy, they are at the top of a mountain area, sort of above another base and there is a ‘deadmans curve’ in between.
Anybody able to help me find it?
