Are there any good websites for finding reviews of contractors for doing home improvement type stuff? yelp.com doesn’t seem to have a very good selection, at least around the SF bay area.
(Or alternatively, if any dopers near San Jose have an recommendations, that would be great… thanks!)
Both are relatively recent startups, but are creating a lot of buzz.
It might be worth the $15 (one month) or $50 (one year) to sign up for Angie’s List if you are looking for personal recommendations for a big job. Or even a small job. I signed up for it when I bought my house 4 years ago and have never had any issues with anyone I’ve found on there. And, if there is a problem with the work, they help you resolve it!
