I’m writing an article for one of my school’s newspapers on bullying insurance in France . . . and not having much luck getting statistics for my article. I get some from the Globe article, but I want to know how many kids there are in French schools who have to buy the stuff, what the various rates are, how many injuries are reported, on average, every year, etc.
The site for the National French Ministry of Education is http://www.education.gouv.fr/ from what I can tell. But it isn’t giving me the information I want . . . or at least it isn’t using the right buzzwords.
Anyone know of a site that could help me? Thanks:)
I’m not sure what are these “bullying insurances” you’re talking about (the link you gave doesn’t point to an article), but I’ve never heard of such a thing in France (it doesn’t mean they don’t exist).
The french word for bullying is “bizutage”. I tried a search on the education site you gave, but it only returns a liste of documents which seem to be governemental regulations on this topic.
I found several references to “bizutage” on this site http://www.peep.asso.fr/ (a parent’s association). Apparently none about an insurance, but I didn’t checked closely…
Well…sorry. Bizutage (which refers to the various “ordeals” new students are submitted by older students) isn’t bullying. Actually, there’s no french word for bullying. Perhaps you should try “violence” or “violence scolaire”?
