In preparing a proposal to my landlord to upgrade the Sears “Coldspot” (read: pre-1977) window unit air conditioner in my apartment, I find myself in want of SEER ratings for units of that era. I’ve found several tables for central air systems, such as Table 1 here:

But, I’m hoping to find numbers for window units (in the 10k-12k BTU range, if possible), as I could imagine that window units have had more relative improvement over the years than central air units. Got cites? Something showing that the efficiency gains are actually similar for window and central units would work just fine, as well.
