I came home from university today to visit my parents. When I logged onto the computer I realised all the user accounts had been replaced by one called “General”. I logged on and tried to find my files. They were ALL missing.
I asked my dad what was going on. It turned out my brother had decided to re-format the computer, and must have forgotten to save my files. I was very VERY pissed off. It was years of work! I was planning to kill him next time I saw him. (Okay, that’s a slight exageration.)
Then I stubbled across a disc on the table, with my name on it. Turns out it has ALL my files on it.
Oh, if my brother did that to me, he would be deader than dead…but he has a computer that is at least twice as cool as mine in all respects, so he would have no reason to.
Is he a little brother? I think they all deserve death on principle. Even when they’re all grown up.
Funnily enough, every time I format someone’s HDD I forget to back up their address book. I get all the other stuff but not that. I’m sure it’s Microsoft’s fault. :smack:
