I am amazed at the number of adult Americans that still spell the word “Loser” (a person who loses) with two “o’s” and the word “Ad” (advertisement) with two “d’s”
What’s up with that?

No idea but it bugs the crap out of me, too.
It bugs me too, but I frequently use “it’s” when I should use “its”, and that likely bugs people also.
The question in the original post seems retorical at best.
Off to MPSIMS.
The one that drives me nuts is alot.
There is no such word…
A lot of people make this mistake.
“They’re”(They are) is not the same thing as “their”. That is one that bugs me.
Baker, the use of ‘their’ seems to be more prevalent over the other two homonyms (is that the right word?):
“i’m gonna cum over their”*
“their all lame anyway”*
[sub]*Translated to ‘chat speak’[/sub]
Y’know, people who can’t spell rhetorical correctly really piss me off.
[sub]off to hand feed my pirannas now[/sub]
Actually what I see the most is people spelling it “there” no matter which usage they mean. Idiots.
We will now find out the difference between banned and band.
spelling colour without the u, wassup with that??
I’ve always spelled colour with the u. That’s just the British vs. American on that.
I prefer the British way, that’s all, even if I’m an American.
Same thing with Armour, I originaly got used to spelling it that one from one RPG or another and. . . .
While I have attempted to correct my usage of ‘a lot’ I am in the crowd that believes that sooner or later ‘alot’ will just become a valid english word do to massive usage.
What about weird? Too many people write “wierd”…
I often misspell “too” by omitting the second “o”. It’s always due to typing to quickly
I’m with the OP 100% on this one. Bugs the crap out of me more than “its and it’s” and “their, there and they’re” for some reason. But I also cannot stand “would of.”
If you loosers don’t like it, you can take an add out in the paper to complain about it!!!
What’s up with whine and whinge? Is this a Britishism? My personal favorite, though, is “Please contact him or I.” Curls my toenails…
