Lord of the Rings Mafia

The fact that that I didn’t know this existed, or that it has not gone viral leaves my satisfaction the no. :frowning:

**Where did Drain’s strap on get to ? **

[quote=“MHaye, post:2659, topic:549867”]

And The Hobbit.

I scored 35 because I missed a hyphen.

I missed 40, mostly the ones who were already dead. I was surprised to find Bill there. It definitely didn’t include The Hobbit though, too many characters from there weren’t mentioned. Like most of the dwarves, Bard, Smaug, Beorn, and Thrandil

It was still quite dark, but the Alliance of Light could not continue sleeping.

A thick, foul, smell had gradually filled the air around them during the Night. This, with the feeling in the air, was very unsettling.

“Is this some new devilry?” asked one Member of the Alliance of Light.

Someone replied, “That, or something struck against devilry itself. That scream came from no man.”

Just outside their camp, a mangled mess was found……clearly the source of the smell and the feeling around them.

It was a……body….of sorts. It was mangled, wrapped into a tight ball….and glowing white. It did not look burned.

“Ah, this is all that remains of Mairon….the ‘Admirable.’ Nothing but a pale, empty shell. This news is beyond good for all of us.”

“Then……the Ring…the One Ring……has been destroyed?” inquired another Alliance of Light member.

“Indeed……but that scream could not have come from Sauron…it just couldn’t have.” replied the other.

Drainbead is now dead.

Drainbead was Sauron, a Servant of Darkness. Sauron was the leader of the Servants of Darkness and could fool any investigations against him. Additionally, Sauron could not be fully killed before the One Ring was destroyed.*

It is still Night. Day Six begins at Noon.

*If lynched before the Ring’s destruction, Sauron could still be active at Night, though would not “count” for the Servant of Darkness win condition and could not post in the Day.

Wow. Awesome.

i guess the strap on back fired.

this ought to be a fun as all heck kind of Day.

Ouch!

In the early morning, hope had again filled the camp of the Alliance of Light. With Sauron dead, it appeared that evil had been destroyed.

“Is it over?” was spoken quietly and excitedly by many.

“Perhaps….but I sense not,” replied some of the wiser. “If none of us have died, then perhaps we are at last free.”

But again, someone was missing….and again, a body was found. It was laid flat on the ground.

Nanook has died.

Nanook was Gandalf, a member of the Alliance of Light. He could cast a spell that would tell him the true allegiance of another player in the game.

“But……Gandalf would not have screamed like that….It could not have been him,” said one person.

Others agreed and muttered, “No……but then….what was that scream? Who was that?”
Still sensing an absence in their presence, the Alliance of Light continued to search for source of the scream. Eventually, some miles from their camp, they found it. It was a lean, nearly emaciated body. It was not human nor elf; it looked closer to hobbit form, but was darker, longer, and twisted.

The body had its own thin, frail hand wrapped tightly around its throat. The head had been bashed in and a bloody rock lay in the other hand.

“What is it?”

“It’s cucuy……and he seems to have killed himself.”

Cucuy is dead. He was Gollum, who was only aligned to himself. He was a seeker of the Ring and if he had gotten it, would have tried to kill everyone but himself.*

**Cucuy has been mod-killed for not taking a required Night Action(and apparently refusing to play the last Day). **

It is now Day Six.

I’m going to determine the end of Day Six in a bit. Assume Thursday for now, but I may shorten it.

*Gollum was a SK of sorts. Before having the Ring, he attempted to steal it Nightly. He would have had a couple kinds of kills per Night if he found the Ring(hidden and unhidden). With the Ring being destroyed, he could have killed out or rage per Night, but only would have succeeded every other Night.

fucked up role for a newb.

neta: and that is not to gritch at the mod just saying that is a tough damn role for someone who really knows what they are doing. for a newb (and i assume cucuy to be such since i have never encountered her/him) that would be a tough damn kitten to have to deal with.

so nookie moves his vote off me to scum.

who saved astral in the first place. anyone want to chime in?

mod question: by saying that gandalf could discover the true allegiance of any player in the game are you suggesting that an invest of drain/sauron would have come back scum?

I hope Nanook won’t mind me saying that that was a very nice Night indeed. The Godfather and the SK (of sorts) both dead overNight? Thank you very much.

With the Ring destroyed, I would like to recommend that this might finally be the time for Frodo to declare. You obviously know your role better than I do, and if you don’t think this is the right time, then obviously don’t say anything, but at least think about it: We’re pretty well sure to have a Frodo in the game, so if you’re not counterclaimed, it would give us another effectively-confirmed Townie.

With four Scum and an SK dead but the game still going on, I think it’s safe to say that the Scum team had exactly five members. A six-member Scum team plus SK, out of 23 players, would pretty much mean that Mahaloth hates us. The last remaining Scum must be the role-blocker (since Nanook reported being blocked), but that’s probably irrelevant now, since Scum power roles usually can’t use their power if they’re the one making the kill (and besides, whom would e block?).

And before I forget:
Vote peeker
Especially after yesterDay’s lynch, he seems to have been making a deliberate effort to avoid voting for Scum. Out of the four Scum we’ve found so far, and out of eleven votes he’s cast, the only ones for Scum were a vote for Suburban Plankton on Day 1, which he doesn’t get credit for since he withdrew it before the end of the Day, and one for Natlaw on the Day we lynched him, which he doesn’t get credit for since everyone voted for Natlaw on that Day.

Plus we have all of his absurd noise-making: He’s absolutely convinced that Wanderers, me, and some other player (I can’t remember whom offhand) are all Scum, even though there’s just not room on the Scum team; he was absolutely convinced (at least as of yesterDay, after we know that he had been brought into the fold) that Astral was not Scum; he refused to give intelligible reasons for any of his votes or suspicions for the past Day or two; he insisted that he and ed must be some sort of crypto-masons and that therefore we could be sure that ed was Town, but then refuses to apply the identical reasoning for anyone else, even voting for someone who, by that reasoning, would be confirmed; the list goes on and on.

The significance of this being?

That would be Natlaw. Who is now comfortably dead, and no further worry to us.

No, Sauron did/would come back aligned to the Alliance of Light.

**Day Six ends Tuesday at Noon Eastern. **

Oh, by the way, some new computations: First, our probability of winning. Taking into account the events of last Night, and assuming no further power roles or confirmations, our chance of winning is now exactly 2 in 3, or 67%. If we can get one more confirmed Town (such as, for instance, by Frodo claiming), that goes up to 5 in 7, or 71%. If we can get two more confirmed Town, it goes up to 5 in 6, or 82%.

Second, the vote analysis: My program now thinks that the last Scum could be any of Wanderers, Snickers, MHaye, Hoopy Frood, peeker, or USCDiver, but does not think that it could be Inner Stickler or Doctor Who. I haven’t yet put in yesterDay’s vote record, but Stickler and Who both voted for Astral, so they should still be clear.

OK.

If we think we are hunting just one scum remaining, is it not full claim for all time?
