this does become time consumptive periodically. this is a serious no bs question. would you rather have a 1000 post Day or a 1000 post game.?
i like to be chatty just to keep things moving along, but if the vast majority of folks would rather be librarians i might be able to do that. might, being the operative word.
mod question: to what extent does the no strategy at night prohibition extend? can we talk about metagame stuff, or not? also, if we are not actively strategizing against a particular individual, can we do that? and if we make general game comments is that considered strategizing?
The longest Day 1 from our little group was Firefly Mafia. It generated something like 1,450 posts.
Unfortunately Proboards is prone to collapsing when a thread gets too big if there is a lot of activity, and not long before the end of Day 1 it jettisoned 596 posts in the middle of the Day. Captain Klutz preserved them, so they are available; but it caused a great deal of difficulty at the time.
and this is not strategy but merely an observation on the general rules of life.
who seems to get blown up the most often. the person at the top of the hill, of course. and of course if that blowed up person is merely chaff then hasn’t he/she accomplished his/her goal.
i mean the folks raising the flag at iwo jima were not the generals.
who seems to get the most scrutiny. the person that has the most thoughts whether they are good or bad.
i mean socrates seemed pretty cool but he ended up getting it in the neck.
ask opal.
i wonder if there is a way to apply those rules to specific endeavors that we engage in daily.
but then we also have to realize that sometimes cream rises to the top. and sometimes generals will take it in the neck for their troops. and sometimes socrates has to bite it just because it advances the cause.
yeh, i gave up atcually trying to follow that one about midway Day 1. that was a honker. 'course roosh was playing and that made it feel like a soap opera.
ok, so you want sudoku with 70 of the 81 squares filled in?
and this is another serious no bs questions for the ladies.
do you want some subtely when you are courting. i mean like dinner and flowers and maybe some dancing or do you go for the dude that grabs a boob and tries to hump you right out of the gate?
and i would further ask do you get more information from the first or the latter?

I’m not a lady, but it would depend on what information I wanted to know. For instance, if I wanted to know how big his dick is, the latter would be more helpful.

A polite request: since it doesn’t appear that we’re going to get a second thread, and since this thread is already insanely long as it is due to (mostly) substantive/strategy posts in Night Zero and Day One, would it be possible to keep the fluff during the Night down to some reasonable minimum so we don’t have even more to wade through as we try to navigate 25+ pages?
Of course, it might be that this is the reasonable minimum.
Keeping fluff down at Night really isn’t necessary. One can just make notes of the post numbers for Dusk and Dawn, and discount everything between.
On the question of multiple threads, it’s been tried; Storyteller ran his Evil Dead game with multiple threads, having obtained advance permission to try it out. It doesn’t work as well as you might hope, because there is another element that is almost as important, and that is the provision of a single subforum for the game. (At least, that’s what I felt during Evil Dead.) Even if the mods sanctioned a thread per Day (and it probably doesn’t hurt to ask) hunting for them can be a bit tedious. You could keep bookmarks, I suppose. I doubt whether they’d agree to set up a subforum. (A single subforum, cleaned out at the end of each game, would be fine by me. Of course it means work for the mods, so they’d have to be on board with the idea.)
I believe there is a board policy to cap long threads; if that is so, and we’re already over the limit then it can’t hurt to ask the Mods for permission to start a continuation thread. That request should come from Mahaloth.
If there is a cap we’re no where near it. I mean the trivia thread has almost 5k posts. So yeah we’re probably safe. Plus I like the single thread format since it makes searches easier.
