It appears the allegations of fraud in the Ohio voting process which were raised at the time were true. The man who knew and was willing to testify “died” in a plane crash. Evil it appears prevailed. this is one of the most frightening things I can imagine. Our faith in the Democratic process is what holds this country together and keeps us from falling into the mire of lies and deceit prevalent in some other countries.
People can’t seem to get their heads around murder as a means to win an election. The people we see on the TV screen, so carefully groomed and rehearsed to present what the public wants can be thugs and murderers. Fronted at the time by a goofy, “religious”, endearingly misspoken President to help them fulfill their insatiable desire for power.
The means is technology, which Congress has in it’s ignorance so easily allowed to take over the counting of votes.
We need to go back to paper ballots until we get this figured out. But the lobbyist’s have done their work and the deed is done and I have this horrible sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that we are now on a downhill road to our inevitable end as a Democracy.
I don’t entirely see the great love for paper ballots. Paper ballots can be falsified just as easily as anything else. Besides, honestly, that article doesn’t prove there was fraud. Their evidence is
A computer expert hired by the people alleging fraud occurred claims that the way the vote counting software was set up, it’s possible to commit fraud.
The president of the company hired to update Ohio’s website with vote results died in a plane crash.
It is worthwhile to question whether the election process is fair and tamper-proof even if you don’t assume a huge conspiracy to take over elections is at work. What is to keep a local official from tampering with results?
We all just assume the system is done fairly and above board but I suspect there are irregularities at all levels. Lost ballets, favoritism at the polling place, flat out fraud are all possible. Who would know? I’ve seen favoritism at the polling place. The people who run my polling place don’t seem that on the ball so I wouldn’t be the least surprised to hear that they lost some results. I’m talking about simple mistakes, not nationwide fraud. Who is watching them?
I wonder why the Republicans allowed Obama to get elected?? It must be part of the same plot! Who else must die to keep this out of the hands of the public? Has anyone heard from the OP lately…?
Tampering works best when you only need to change a small margin, since the more you tamper, the more risk there is of getting caught. In 2004 or 2000, any one of several different states would have given a different result if flipped, so it’s reasonable to take a closer look at those states. 2008 was much more lopsided, though, so it would have required much more significant tampering to have any effect. IIRC, if he had kept California and New York (neither one of which I think was ever in any doubt), it would have taken at least three other states flipping for McCain to have won.
Walden O’Dell, the CEO of Diebold who said in 2003 that he would deliver Ohio’s electoral votes to George Bush in 2004, resigned following accusations of insider trading in 2005.
