I had several dozen, perhaps over 100, links bookmarked in my Google Bookmarks.
I’d stopped using browser-based bookmarks, in fact.
Today, I added a couple of Craigslist pages as bookmarks.
A few minutes later, one of my machines was suddenly showing only a small percentage of my bookmarks.
Many categories were missing, and some categories still present are partially empty.
Anyone ever had this?
Is there a solution?
Whoa! Now my 316 bookmarks are showing at Google Notebook
Curiouser and curiouser.
Came back spontaneously.
Never mind about solving my problem, but it would be nice if we got some guidance as to what happenned.
I had the same crappy list of Bookmarks show up on TWO SEPARATE COMPUTERS on different networks and miles apart, powered up at different times.
I had the same problem. I had my bookmarks on my Google Homepage. Then some or all kept disappearing over the course of a week (about 3-4 mos. ago). I stopped using google bookmarks and removed the module from my homepage. Then, 2 weeks ago, I went to my google acct. and found my complete, intact bookmarks list it under “Web History.” I put it back on my homepage, and it hasn’t glitched yet.
Weird.
Could be that their bookmark servers are like their search engine servers— cheap and off-the-shelf and thousands upon thousands in number. If a cluster or two go down, some of your bookmarks go bye-bye. This is why sometimes search results produce differing results for different users.
Now I’m back to the same set of incomplete bookmarks as when I first posted!!!
I’m liking that last theory.
