She shoots the Kellson in the head before he can transform into the Anti-Christ.
-
Isn’t a popular translation of Revelations that the anti-Christ will survive a mortal head wound, only to miraculously recover? Would this mean that Kellson will come back to life? Sequel? Or is the ending deliberately done this way to stir debate? Or did the writers just fuck up?
-
Since she often seemed to hallucinate, which also could have legit been demons chasing her, since she was once supposedly possessed, is it possible the Winona Ryder character was a nutcase who imagined the whole thing, and shot Kellson because she was delusional?
Other things that make me wonder she dreamed up the whole thing:
-She could have placed that pentangle under his bed, blamed it on his girlfreind, to set her up to kill her. The blonde was none too convincing.
-Maybe some of the scenes were imagined, like the almost dreamlike sequence where they go into the satanic church and Kellson starts shooting everybody. I also found it peculiar that the little girl she imagined from the coffee shop was in the evil church as well.
-Is it possible the author was so caught up in her hysteria he started imagining all of it was true as well? Remember her saying in the church “don’t shoot them- it will mean you accept evil?”.
-Her priest friend who tried to kill Kellson- maybe he got caught up in her delusions.
To me, the better ending would have been after she shot him, pan back to the clock which shows it ticking normally, to imply maybe she was a nutjob who imagined the whole thing. You’d have to change a lot of the scenes in the movie, but THAT would have been awesome.
Just food for thought . . .interesting flick.
