That’s neat, and I like reading those takes on clues in the picture. But the characters change positions between picture 1 and 2. Claire and Miles swap places as do Sun and Ben. Which positions is relevant? Or do the two pictures represent different timelines?
I think this was all planned to make my head hurt so that when the season starts I’ll be used to it.
Why do 6 people change locations between the two pics?
Why are there skulls laying on the ground?
Where the heck has Claire been?
Where’s the Bay-Bay?
In the photo where they all look at Locke, are they all looking at him? Sawyer and Jack seem to be looking behind him (at something they are both holding?) The pilot (Frank) appears to be focused on something out of view to the left of the picture.
Why does Jin have his hand on Franks ass?
On the table - Beer, soup, peanut butter, wine, cola
The Bay-bay is with his maternal grandmother, either in Los Angeles or back home in Australia. I suppose it’s possible he’ll be dragged back to the Island at some point this season, but at the very least, we do know what his status is as of the beginning of this season.
I don’t think there’s much to take away from these. I gave them each a good once-over, and not much, other than vague symbolism surfaced.
One thing I was trying to string together is if the skulls had anything to say about who’s coming back from the dead, by who they’re resting under. I the first pic, it’s Hurley and Sayid. So you could say it’s Libby and Shannon.
In the other, it’s in between Clair and Hurley. So you could say it was Charlie.
But, about any returning dead:
I’ve already read some of the spoilers about who’s coming back to the show. I’ve read so far we’re going to see Boone, Charlie, and Libby. I haven’t read about any others, but perhaps the skull under Sayid does mean Shannon’s coming back.
Anyway, perhaps once Season 6 is finished airing, perhaps they’ll make more sense. Looking back on the BSG Last Supper, it’s far more enlightening after watching the season. There’s was no way to make most of the connections, without actually having seen the story.
So, while they’re kind of cool, it’s more of an unsatisfying tease, and might just be a red herring or a wild goose after all, with no real meaning other than the obvious.
Actually, no. According to the Wikipedia article on the Last Supper, Judas is the fourth person from the left (from the viewer’s POV). That’s Sayid in both versions of the picture. Kate is sitting where Peter sits (second person to the left of Jesus), Sawyer (first to the left) is in John’s spot, and Jack (first to the right) is in Thomas’ spot.
According to the Wiki article, the people, from left to right, are seated as follows:
Bartholomew, James the Less, Andrew, Judas, Peter, John, Jesus, Thomas, James the Greater, Phillip, Matthew, Jude, Simon.
Because they all signed long-term contracts back in season one when the show was worth watching?
ETA: O.K., yes, snarkier than needed. But I saw the first few episodes of season two and that persuaded me to sit out the remainder. Only I’d like the show to end, because I’d like to know what was going on, and that’s pretty much my only interest at this point.
