LOTR Question: Why Did Celeborn Stay?

Maybe Celeborn stayed because she wasn’t that good at the oral sex.

What Tolkien officially said about elf sex.

Depressing, really.

Well, Legolas is Sindarin, isn’t he? He went.

Unfortunately, Celeborn was bound by his rash vow never to set foot on the Undying Lands until all the people of Arda learned to pronounce his name correctly.

He eventually settled for simply not being called “Mr. Galadriel”.

Hey. Hey! Those’re Quenya sex terms in there! And me, already with a user name. O, the humanity. :frowning:

O, the Eldarity!

Hey, Elf sex sounds prtty good. You get one to three centuries of nookie, and it’s so good the glow lasts for weeks afterward every time!

Damn you! This is just what I would have written, had I been as clever!

:: shakes fist at Malacandra ::

Fëanor had sex exactly 6 times in his entire thousands of years of life.

And he was considered prolific!

To be fair, he did spend an awful lot of his time messing around with his family Jewels…

So, when Morgoth refused to “give with both hands”…

And when giant spiders get mixed up in it, all bets are off.

So, to put this into our terms - if I surf the net for a couple of thousand years, I’ll gain wisdom? Up in the 18 points category?

Depends. Cirdan linked to his friends in Avalonnë, and their “Music of the Ainur” downloads. He stayed away from Minas Ithil’s “Unsuspecting Babes of Ithilien” site.

Whenever I hear this question, I think it indicates a misapprehension of the subjective time involved. How long did Celeborn stay in Middle-earth after she left? Surely not forever; I’d guess that it was no more than a few hundred years. Both he and Galadriel were thousands of years old that this point; they would not have thought of this separation as forever, perhaps not even especially long.
