Lottery question

Eight people in Nebraska won the $365 million lottery. How can they all claim it? According to cnn.com they will each recieve 15.5 million. Isn’t the ticket actually bought by only one person and that one person claims the winnings?

I’m assuming they all pooled their money, and one of the tickets they bought was the winning ticket. So since it was bought as a group, they all get to share.

Pooling money is common. There have even been court rulings regarding this practice, such as the guy who won a case after his normal pool won. He didn’t get his money in on time, but was told he could get it in later. He won because he’d been allowed to do this previously when the group didn’t win.

Yep, that’s what happened. Good for them!
