He drove by three times this aftenoon. Ran out of the house to get plate number, but since he never actually stopped at the stop sign I never got it. I hope his ears bleed.
Do the license plate thing with the sherrif. If you know he comes by at 6:30 every morning, wake up at 6:20, and take a video or photo. It’s their job to enforce laws. Whether he gets a ticket or just gets a scaring, it shouldn’t matter as long as he stops and, because he’s breaking the law, he does legally deserve whatever penalty goes with it.
If the kid won’t even stop at the stop sign properly, I doubt he’d respond positively to someone flagging him down to tell him not to play his music so loud. It’s even worse to actually follow him home. That’s nother quick way to be perceived as a creep and just make things worse.
I agree with getting his plate and having the police have a talk.
Most people (teenagers or otherwise) who play their music too loud aren’t actually malicious. They’re just self-centered and casually oblivious, and are easily embarrassed into proper behavior when confronted.
The few who aren’t, on the other hand, are not ones that you want personal contact with. Let The Law handle it.
Well, my first recommendation is to determine whether he’s listening to his own music or to a radio station. If it’s the former, you’re on your own.
If it’s radio, buy a small, portable FM transmitter.Solder an external antenna to it (many have a clearly-labelled “Antenna” pinout right on the PCB). Tune it to the station the offender plays. Attach it to a portable CD player or cheapo MP3 player playing The Osmonds. Or possibly Culture Club. Stash it near the street daily. Within a week, I guarantee you he’ll be muting his stereo near your house.
