Louisville Metro a bad idea

I got to say that Louisville consolidating with Jefferson County was really a fucked idea. For a handful of reasons:

A) Taxes have risen astronomically.

B) The old City of Louisville still suffers from urban decay.

C) Residents in the other incorporated cities in Jefferson County such as Shively, St. Matthews, Anchorage, and so on, have been treated unfairly by Metro especially with the taxes.

I take it Louisville has merged with its County?

Indianapolis did that back in the 70’s.

I don’t know when San Francisco did it.

I’m surprised that there are still large cities which have NOT so merged.

Get used to it, I guess.

Hehe Detroit and Wayne county are in the situation where they take a look at each other and both decide they want nothing to to with the mess that is the other one.

OK, That one I can see…

Detroit and Wayne County won’t merge because they are countless other cities in the county that won’t fall for it.

1856, but it wasn’t really the same thing. The county was split in two. The rest became San Mateo County.

It was only through Google that I could tell that this OP probably refers to Louisville/Jefferson County Kentucky. I know of 5 Jefferson Counties in the Southeastern US (AL, KY, TN, GA and TX). The one in Georgia also boasts a city named Louisville as the county seat.

That said, meh. Did you really expect a different outcome?

I have meant Louisville in KY.
