Low effort ways to improve things

I wasn’t suggesting that it was derived from the word “pig”; rather that someone acting “piggish” was synonymous to someone acting “boorish”.

If you can afford to be paying $7 for an omelet and some toast, sure, support the local restaurant.

Love this.

I’m going to screenprint myself a t-shirt: “Fighting entropy since 1954”. If I’m wearing it, I’ll have to make an extra effort to pick things up.

That’s kind of sad. Happy to be living in Italy.

My one, I think it’s already been said, but every time you think someone looks nice or is wearing something nice, tell them, even if you don’t know them well. And no, it won’t come across as creepy if it’s sincere and you don’t bang on and on about it.

Please, wash your damn hands after going to the bathroom (and before and after eating). It’s disgusting when you just walk out of the bathroom like that. It shows that you don’t care about hygiene.

Also, I think we need more courtesy in this world. Hold doors open for people, optimize row usage for people when you’re in a movie theater (reminds me of mademoiselle’s thread), etc. I think just doing nice things for people in public, and having better hygiene will make the world a better place.

As a side note, tone down the swearing in public. It just makes us look uncivilized. I hardly ever swear and it’s usually only if I’m here on the Straight Dope Message Board and in the Pit, or else, if I’m with my friends in a private place. Otherwise, I don’t swear. It just doesn’t sound good.

If you dont care about hygiene, shouldn’t you show it?
