If no one bought gasoline for one day, they either filled up the day before or the day after, would gas prices drop greatly? If so, then why? If not, then why not?
You won’t get everyone not to buy gasoline on any particular day.
However, if it were possible, people would do just as you surmised and buy it the day before and the day after. During the regular trading cycle, it evens out.
I’m pretty sure that gas stations - and, thus, oil companies - base the price of their product over long term sales fluctuations, rather than short term price spikes.
Unless you have two stations across the street from each other get into a price matching war.
Yes, but I am still sure you would have a big fat walleted man/woman sitting behind a conference table scared to death they won’t be able to afford that 4th new Jaguar when they get that days daily report in. lol
Yeah, but if the price does drop significantly, how are you going to get people not to buy fuel that day?
If they bought gas the day the prices were greatly lower then that would be great and the plan to get it lower would suceed. Prices go back up, then just don’t buy gas again. I know it would never happen because I could never get a class of 20 or so students in school to do or not do something all together. There is always that one or two…“I don’t want to get in trouble” ect that won’t do it. If they were there 12 years ago, they are still out there today. Dang those people that don’t realize there is power it large numbers.
