Lucky me, I just discovered Six Feet Under

Too bad it will be another month or more until the next half dozen episodes appear on On Demand. Well, in the meantime I can re-watch these and see what I missed.

Oh and I forgot that mom seems to be becoming quite the slut. :stuck_out_tongue: Missed David’s church reading to shag Nicolai. That’s another interesting piece of it all. I can’t recall every being drawn in so much to each and every individual character.

Couldn’t you just rent it on netflix?

“Moo!”

I agree with Made in Macau, it’s nice to relive the series again.

And the finale brought on my hay fever something wicked.

I could if I had an account. I’m unemployed right now and unwilling to take on any more financial obligations. The good part is that I can watch TV until 4 in the morning without worrying about work the next day.

[continued hijack]I was unemployed for two years, and kept my Netflix account active throughout that period. It’s only $9/month for one-at-a-time, and if you watch things the day they come in – easy to do if you’re unemployed – and turn them right around, you can do two DVDs a week, making it a hair over a buck a rental. Well worth it – to me, anyway, but I don’t have cable because I’m a cheapskate.[/continued hijack]

And IIRC even on the 1 at a time plan you still have full access to Instant.

Ah, well, I was already locked into my cable contract when I became unemployed, so I’m just stickin’ to that.

I’ve just finished Season II. The big cliffhanger is that Nate is going under the knife, which isn’t much of one years later when I know he’s going to be around in future seasons. There other lesser cliffhangers are whether Claire gets into art school, and whether the teacher who recommended Claire to the school will follow up on his declaration of attraction for her.

Ruth is turning from a mouse to a shrill harpy. And I thought MY mom was a pain. From other comments here, it seems as if this trend continues, and it will be interesting if not pleasant to see how much worse she gets.

Somehow Nate and Brenda are still together, which baffles me. Perhaps his brain condition has made hum stupider. C’mon, five minutes after they met they were fucking in a utility closet, and he’s just learned she’s still having sex with total strangers, and he thinks she might be fucking her own (psychopath) brother, and she’s just learned he got his old girlfriend pregnant when he took a trip back to Seattle. Plus there are her parents, these highly educated “sophisticates” who seemingly try to destroy everyone they meet.

And then David, the family doormat. I recall a thread here where someone said that this role and his acting in Dexter showed an incredible acting range. While I think he’s a fine actor, to me he is playing almost the same role – a stressed-out repressed control freak. And I so wish he and Keith would just either commit or break up. Their relationship is a little too soap-opera-y.

I am also real happy to see that Federico has managed to buy into the company. I am a little confused as to what the deal is. At first Nate and David had half of the business each. But in some earlier episode, Ruth put in a bunch of money and later talked about the company being part hers now. So if she is a co-owner, then giving Freddy a 25% share makes him an equal partner, which doesn’t jibe with what the brothers were saying during the negotiations.

Keep on going. There’s sooooo much more left to watch. So many more ups, so many more downs. So many characters get so much stranger and more fucked up then they are now. You still have no idea what you’re walking in to…but you’ll never regret it.

I don’t want to give any thing away, so I’ll leave it at that.

Plus if you give up now you won’t see the best finale in the world EVAR!!!
