I didn’t know I was pregnant with my second baby for 8 weeks (nothing to your 26 weeks, I know) and got the flu. I took some contraindicated OTC stuff and, when it hung on, went to a doctor, who put me on an Rx med that was also contraindicated. I only took one, as I lost the bottle in a snowdrift (long story). My baby girl turned out to be fine. Between ultrasounds and research, I was pretty reassured within a couple months. I suspect the same will be true for you.

That’s great news, Elysium. 
I came in here to reassure you that pain is usually a good sign, according to my doctor (I also had a painful lump in my boob awhile back - he said cancerous lumps usually aren’t painful). Congrats on the little one!

Mine get very sore prior to every period, were I to get pregnant I’m sure I’d be in moderate agony.

I’m so glad that it’s not something bad! But isn’t the earliest a woman can feel fetal moment close to 4 months? If it wasn’t gas, you better be sitting down when the doctor tells you the due date.
Well, after we did a couple beta levels it’s not looking so good. My numbers were at 130 on Saturday and they dropped to 50 yesterday. So far no pain though, not sure what else to expect. The nurse told me to call if I’m in pain just in case it’s ectopic, so I’ll keep my eye out for those symptoms.
This has been a crazy ride, and I’m definitely disappointed.

FYI, I took Elavil throughout my pregnancy with my son. The OB had me sign a waiver that I was fully informed about the risks. In very rare cases, it can cause shortening of the limbs. I had an ultrasound that showed everything developing normally.
That son is now almost 26 years old and about 6 ft 3 inches. And adorable. And engaged!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this now. I just found out a week ago today that my 5 weeks along pregnancy was actually ectopic. I posted about it here if you’d like to read it. Although our stories are very different the pain we feel is very much the same. Please feel free to PM me anytime if you want to chat off the board.
Are your doctors having you repeat your betas? I have to go every week until I have two consecutive 0 readings to be sure I’m no longer in danger of a rupture.
Be sure to take care of yourself. It may be a while before the hormones are fully out of your system and you start to feel better physically.

We’re doing another round of blood work tomorrow to make sure it’s still dropping. They didn’t really tell me what to expect, so that kind of sucks too.
Have you started bleeding yet? Generally, with your beta’s going down pretty well, it will just happen naturally, but I agree that you need to get blood work done until you’re back to non-pregnant levels (less then 5).

Nope, no bleeding yet. So I’m anxious as I wait for this to start. I’m guessing since Monday’s level was 50 I can expect it to start soon. I’ll see what tomorrow morning’s level is and hopefully get a better idea at that time.
