Hmph. That’s nothin’. Why, when I was your age, I’d walk through drifts of regolith that were up to the seals at the hip just to see a decent meteor shower.

A few years ago, I was in Philly when the Leonids hit in the autumn. Gormy but it was a cold damp night. We drove over to a public golf course in Fairmount Park, in Mt. Airy. Laid down on the frozen damp grass…for…an hour or more? The Leonids did not disappoint and I didn’t stop shaking for hours. A spectacular display.
