Lunar Eclipse Expected

From here. Listen morons, its not like a snow storm (or meteor storm for that matter). We’ve been able to predict lunar eclipses with good precision for hundreds of years, if not longer.

Link not working…

Fixed link, your outrage must have been astronomical for you to screw the link like that.

Those fuckers how dare they enjoy astronomy like that.

Oh and meteor showers are also very predictable. Snow storms maybe not as accurately but certainly predictable. And just in case you were wondering meteorology and meteors don’t go hand-in-hand.

Yeah, but they always seem to get the intensity wrong. I sat out in the freezing eastern Oregon desert one year because the Perseides shower was supposed to be particularly spectacular.

I like the Perseids as much as the next guy, but I’d have given it up after a week or so.

Well, I personally can’t predict lunar eclipses, so I’m glad they gave us the heads up, so that I can remember to look for it tomorrow.

Just think of it has another data point and confirmation of our methods.

That made me LOL.

I’ve been pouring over my charts and I predict there will be another lunar eclipse August 27th.
(OK I cheated and got my prediction off the internet. My charts suck.)

What did you pour over your charts? Water? Maple syrup? Granulated sugar? Whom do you expect is going to clean up this mess?

So because I’m one of those ignorant fools that has to be told about these things:

do I not get to see it because I’m in California? Or do I see the tail end? What time should I look?

Blue cheese dressing, these are some pretty old charts.

Shouldn’t that be green cheese dressing?

I don’t think he’s pitting the fact there was an article; he’s pitting the fact that it said “expected,” as though it’s just a guess. It ought to have said, “Lunar eclipse Saturday,” or the like.

Hell, they don’t even say “Oscar gala expected Sunday.” It’s not like the eclipse might be cancelled.

And now, the Great Cthulhu, dreaming in lost R’leyh, shall RISE!

That was FUNNY!

Well, shit, you need to be more persistant…The Perseids haven’t told you “No, I don’t want to you to see me”, have they?

There’s a good map here showing the extent of visibility of the lunar eclipse around the world.

I thought this was also interesting:

Here on the West Coast, the eclipse will be mostly over by the time the moon rises. Apparently we had a good view of the last one back in 2004, but I missed it. Hmph.

No, it’s usually “I’m really very busy” or “I have to adjust my orbit”. You know, the third time they broke a date for their grandmother’s funeral I should have taken the hint, but some meteor showers play hard to get.
