I will be watching for it at 7:43 pm tonight (CST). The sky is crystal clear and the moon right now is brilliant. #2 son (9 years old) is also counting down the minutes until “show time”.
Anyone else going to observe this?

Howdy neighbor!
I’m counting down as well.
8:43 (EST).
drum, drum, drum
I’d like to, but it’s cloudy here tonight. All I can see right now is a big fuzzy bright spot in the sky.
It’s really cold out because, for once, there isn’t any cloud cover during a celestial event. The moon already has a little bite taken out of it.
Not sure how much of it I’ll be able to see, but I’ve seen the beginning, at least. Yay!

We’re having sporadic clouds, but it’s started here. Even though I had to convince Oldest Child it wasn’t just the clouds, and had to point out the shadow.
Yipee!
So far, so good. It is really cool. The shadow doesn’t look anything like a cloud in front of the moon–at first I thought it was a cloud, but there is no light falling on top of the “cloud” which is the give away.
No wonder ancient people feared this kind of stuff–it is kind of spooky. #1 and #2 sons are enjoying it. Daughter had to go to work.
Fucking snow.
Goddamned cloud cover.
I’m going over to a friend’s house here in a few minutes to check it out. It’s really cold here so booze or hot chocolate may be necessary.
About 1/4 gone. Quick! Sacrifice the virgin!
About 1/2 now. coolness!!

It’s crystal clear here, and it looks amazing.
Makes you want to go druid.
Ha! Good luck finding one of those nowadays.
I can see it! The moon! Someone’s eating it!
One of my students insisted the moon was going to turn turquoise tonight. Can’t see it yet.
Finally a clear night for night sky watching. Which means it is freaking cold out there, but the view through the kitchen window is fine.
I wish my camera could zoom more… it’s a Canon Pwershot A430, 4X optical…
hopefully my pics’ll turn out.

This one’s a lot better than the one in August- much darker.
Aww, I lost it to cloud cover.
Dangit.
Slightly cloudy in Arizona, but we just saw it. Awesome.
(The coyotes must be confused – they’re oddly silent, tonight.)
Crystal clear and awesome in Toronto.
Edit:
No need to hurry. I’m going back outside now that I’m warm again.
