Is it possible to see the Apollo 11 lunar lander from earth?
Could you see it using a high powered consumer model?
Like Cindy Crawford?
Unfortunately, no. As has been pointed out in several other threads, spotting the Descent Stage of the LM is exactly as difficult as spotting a large tent from 250,000 miles away. No telescope currently in operation can see the lunar landing sites.
However, there is a Japanese high-res lunar mapping mission planned which should be able to spot the landing sites. Assuming, of course, we actually went there.
That was a joke, dammit.
