I’ve got access to a bunch of Blue Lupin that is currently flowering, and some of them already have pea-like seed pods.
As I understand it, you’re supposed to wait for the fur to drop off and for the pods to turn brown before you pick them. Does anyone know long this takes?
Also, while I know there are sweet and bitter lupin, and I know there’s a domesticated variety of Blue Lupin called Australian Sweet Lupin, I don’t know the preferred way to tell the difference. Taste-testing something to find out if it contains toxic alkaloids seems unwise.
