Luther's lavatory thrills experts

Who says history is boring? Historians are currently unearthing an important relic of the reformation movement.

Inquiring minds wanna know: was there a little shit-platform?

Quote:
“We still don’t know what was used for wiping in those days,” says Dr Treu. The paper of the time, he says, would have been too expensive and critically, “too stiff” for the purpose.
I heard that they had these three shells…

The theological implications are staggering. Many feel that Luther was in large part responsible for literacy in Europe because he promoted bibles in the common language. All that may have been lost if he would have just eaten a bran muffin once in a while.

Luther, liebchen, have some Belgian sprouts with your schnitzel and pommes.

If only his problem had been the other way, there would be an excuse to make a lame joke about “Hier scheisse ich, Ich kann nicht anders, Gott helfe mir”.
But there isn’t.

Huh. :frowning:
