Lynching

I don’t know where to post this–I hope if this is the wrong place, it will be moved.

I don’t know how I got to this site:

I looked at this Sunday, and have had bad dreams since then.

I suppose my question is: How in hell can people ever have done things like those that are depicted at this site?

Is it just lynching you object to, or all of man’s atrocities?

We still execute people in the United States. Lynching is execution through extra-legal means.

(Actually in California, it’s defined as the involuntary removal of a person from police custody under the color of riot, IIRC from a friend who was on a jury where one of the charges was lynching.)

This topic is sounds like a Great Debate.

All. I have never seen photographs like these. I think nothing has ever filled me with such sorrow as I have felt since seeing them the first time.
