I didn’t have any strong associations with the name before I heard of the movie outside of Kruschev, I guess, but it always sounded like “little Nikki” to me, which I guess is in and of itself ambiguous as well (“Nikki/Nicky”) So my brain has always leaned on it being femaler Somewhat similarly, I associate Sasha more as a feminine name, even though it’s a gender-neutral nickname, as it just sound feminine to me.
