M.D. Dopers: Injured throat question

On June 17th, I was accidently struck on the front/side of the Adam’s Apple quite roughly. It was quite painful to swallow. It is still painful to swallow, though not nearly as painful as it was initially. However, sometimes when my head is on a certain angle, when I swallow I get a very sharp pain in the side of my throat/Adam’s Apple.

Does this sound like something important, or is it just part of the pain that will go away as the healing process continues?

Thanks in advance!
