I’m in the market for a cheap, B&W, 8MB, 33mhz PDA.
Given that both models are going for $149 at the moment, I’m stuck.
Visor:
Lots and lots of Springboard expansion modules, including a couple of itty bitty modems, which is important, because I’ll probably be browsing a lot. Only one expansion slot, though, so I can’t add memory and browse at the same time.
Palm:
Comes with lots of software, including Word, which I need. Has two expansion slots. Expansion is through SD, which is kinda pricey. The modem is big and bulky looking, so I wouldn’t necessarily be able to drop it in a coat pocket along with the PDA. And the damned thing looks like a toy!
Does anybody have any suggestions or experience with either of these models that they’d be willing to share?
My primary objectives, beyond the address/datebook, are to browse the web, edit text files and Word docs, and play the occasional game.
The Visor definitely has the edge on looks, but I’ll probably end up flipping a coin.
Thanks.
