Mac: Pipe COnnecting Puzzles! SPLASH! Pipedream! Bring them back!

My all time favorite games (aside from Centipede/Apeiron) were several varieties of pipe-connecting games that were available on the Mac at various times, but never updated, dammit!

My very favorite ever was Lucasarts’ Pipedream, as simple and straightforward as it gets. I also KILLED It… I actually called the company because it kept crashing on what was evidently the last level. The woman I talked to had never heard of a score as high as mine was and I don’t remember now what it was. But I LOVED that game, it was sick. I used to see the puzzle superimposed on everything I looked at, especially reading and before sleep.

But no one ever upgraded it, and the last time I knew it worked properly was probably around System 7!

Another game I loved but never got muhc of a chance to play because by the time I found it it was very old and kept crashing was Splash, which was the same concept but more realistic, in that it was a room with pipes in it and a conveyor belt. It as also written in German, which was frustrating.

I’ve played Pipemare, but something about that just doesn’t speak to me, I’m not sure why.

So… how do I get someone to upgrade my faves for OS X?

If you know of any pipe-connecting games at all, please link me so I can check them out.

Did they release Bioshock for the Mac?

The only “pipe-connecting” game that I know of offhand is on Neopets (Meepit Juice Break). I love those kinds of games too - I used to play one that had ants about a decade ago, and I can’t honestly remember now whether it was software or an online game. You laid out a path for the ant to travel in order to get to a goal, and as the levels increased there were more ants, trickier pieces, probably other obstacles as well. I rocked at that game!

There’s also a “shooting off rockets” variant on MSN games whose name I can’t be bothered to remember right now.
