Let’s suppose there’s proof that you molested 900 billion children in 1995. The NY Times prints an article saying that based on this trend you may have continued to molest children until 2005. Reasonable conclusion?
You love analogies, so here’s one for you.
Some animal species thought to be extinct for years have been found to be alive.
Should these findings:
a) be kept quiet as to not upset the previously reached conclusions?
b) be published to correct and inform previously incorrectly drawn conclusions?
c) be used to accuse those who didn’t have newly discovered data of being liars?
I’m declaring the whole analogy about another poster thing off-limits. It’s intentionally provocative and aids in discussion not at all.
