I thought the Romans pulling her in on the stage possibly fits her ego. She’s got a 200 man harem. She was dressed up like Cleopatra or sumthin’, wasn’t she?
i just saw this and thought it was really signature Madonna.
how do we know for sure that she lip synced? she missed an entire line of lyrics during her stumble. i guess it is easy to have your judgement clouded when you’re predisposed to hate something.
Are you kidding? She was 100% lip-syncing without a shred of a doubt, as were all the other vocalists. The vocals are all studio-quality, some obviously lifted straight from her albums. (Not to mention the fact that she did a pretty bad job at lip-syncing convincingly.) Even the best singer in the world can’t sound *exactly *the same live in a stadium as they did in the studio with the benefit of many different takes, splices, and effects.
Although I am not a Madonna fan, it has nothing to do with having my judgement clouded by hate. As others said upthread, it is common for performers who dance to lip-sync to prerecorded tracks of their vocals during live performances.
As for her missing a line upon her stumble, I’m not seeing it. (direct link to the relevant portion of the video)
If you’re a Madonna fan, and the whole spectacle of her performance is your kind of thing, there’s nothing wrong with that. The fact that she lip-synced doesn’t necessarily have to detract from your enjoyment of it. But I guess it is easy to have your judgement clouded when you’re predisposed to like something.
Heck, the entire point of N’Sync’s name was that they actually sang “in sync” with their dancing. In other words, it was assumed that no one else was.
yeah, viewing it again, i am probably wrong. they must have left out the line for the medley.
