No. Your job if Town is to worry about it now. This is a Team game.
You can vote to mislynch me if Town. I screw up that way all the time. But you don’t get to quit playing. You don’t get to quit thinking.

I trust my fellow townies to revist the mahaloth thing toMorrow if you flip town AND I get nK’d. And I’ll be at the bar soon to help with the “stop thinking” bit.
And I feel like I may owe Stranger on a Train a second apology.
Headed to the bar now. I’ll be back around in 30ish min.
As you probably get by now with the back-and-forth between SNF and I, the argument is that Mahaloth has very little reason to trust me so vigorously on gut alone, but that is exactly what he is doing. I pointed to several games where Mahaloth was involved with my Scum play.
SNF is right that we all have gut reads. But considering our history, and considering how few posts Mahaloth has made, it is not normal that he (Mahaloth) has posted over and over that he thinks I am Town. I believe this an attempt for him to look Towny himself with perfect information. Otherwise it makes no sense.
I can see you both as scum and trying for a complicated, wine-soaked megabussing.
Is this the pre or post bar thinking?
This is halfway through first pint with loud terrible music in a stinky bar thinking. So everything might seem scummier than usual at the moment.
Mahaloth: 2 (Biotop 421, Hi, Neighbor 432)
snfaulkner: 0 ([del]snoe 449-451[/del])
Knowed Out: 0 ([del]snoe 451-495[/del], [del]Sunny Daze 485-504[/del])
Hi, Neighbor: 2 (Mahaloth 452, [del]snfaulkner 460-529[/del], Knowed Out 474)
Biotop: 4 (snoe 495, Johnny Bravo 503, Sunny Daze 504, snfaulkner 529)
I’ll be back in time to end the Day, but if it’s as crazy as last Thursday was, it might take me a little extra time to tally all the votes.
I think these two posts don’t match up. If Mahaloth feels scum tends to play just like town, then thinking somebody is “definitely” town because they’re making a case is sketchy.
Regarding Biotop, I’m having a lot of trouble viewing his posting last night as anything other than post-padding, which feels scummy to me. Objectively, post-padding is perhaps a null tell since town could also benefit from it, but any kind of game manipulation feels scummy to me in a general sense.
As town, we have zero tools at our disposal outside of the lynch. I currently feel that a Biotop lynch, as scum or town, will give us the most potential information. It will tell us about Hi, Neighbor and will tell us about Mahaloth.
I’m not at all certain that Biotop is scum, but he’s at least got a weak case sticking to him. I do feel that he’s our best lynch in a very bad situation.
Are **Biotop **and **snfaulkner **trying to avoid falling into some sort of post-count formula?
and why are you guys camel humping date terms?
Sounds good to me. And good point about post-padding too; I had forgotten that was a thing to worry about. I just thought Biotop’s recent stuff might be chaff — or down to booze, or severe nostalgia, or…
(I mean, if you want to scum-hunt based on “how so and so always plays,” maybe that’ll work for you. It seems like a hard pull to convince others who lack your specific experiences, though. And it should be trivial to game other players who do this — it’s easy to change up your persona/style/whatever on an online game.)
Uh…I did say that I have some doubt, but really I find sometimes I have to just take chances and go forward with my feeling.
Post padding in this type of game is not Scummy. It is beneficial to your team and thus neutral.
Mahaloth, you are convinced and you have a doubts. You can be one or the other, but not both.
Simply posting to get your post totals up does seem scummy, though, since it is THE tie-breaker. So all other things being equal, a scum player who has amassed some votes would want a high post total, no?
It makes lynching scum slightly more difficult, because not only do we have to vote for scum, we also have to make sure there are 1.) no ties in the votes, and 2.) if there are ties, that the scum we are targeting has less posts.
Question to the veterans - is post count the standard tie-breaker? Or is that unique to this game?
It is unique to this game.
Why wouldn’t Town also want to have the most posts in a tie-breaker?
Nothing wrong with having a high number of posts. I thought we were discussing *padding *specifically. Goes back to the quality over quantity thing. It’s sometimes hard to discern who is intentionally padding, though.
Again, padding is not Scummy. If you find yourself in a tie, you want to have the most posts regardless of your side.
If you find yourself in a tie, quality won’t mean squat.
