I don’t mean to be an ass, especially being the new kid on the block in this game, but these posts make my brain scuttle into a dark corner and whimper softly. I do not find it cute or endearing, and if this is the way you type during the game, I will probably lobby very stubbornly to lynch you first.

This seems a bit harsh, since ties are created by everyone by (not) voting, so this means a random player gets lynched (unless he is blocked from voting)?
I interpreted that to mean that the lynchee is randomly chosen from the players whose votes caused the tie. So, if there were five voters total, and the votes broke down like this:
Pleonast: natlaw, pedescribe
Natlaw: Pleonast, peeker
peeker: SoT&B
…then one of Natlaw, pede, Pleo, or peeker would be lynched. Seeker wouldn’t be, since his vote didn’t contribute to the tie. (Now, cue sache to tell me I’ve got it backwards.)
Anyhoo, I’m considering getting my feet wet on this one. I’m a total noob to this game, but I’ve been reading through the old game threads, and it seems just the sort of thing to keep a tabletop-roleplaying GM’s skullduggery skills intact while all his players are off to parts unknown until summer. Veterans o’ Mafiosity: should I jump in here, or wait for something Open-setup/closer to vanilla? These things come around often enough that I don’t mind waiting.
Well, that way why would Seeker get a pass? By not voting for Pleonast or Natlaw, he is keeping the tie in place. And if I’m convinced Pleonast is scum and the rest town, I still wouldn’t unvote ‘because ties are bad’: 25% chance to lynch scum VS 100% chance to lynch town.
A random lynch between Pleonast and me makes more sense, town can then deal with the tie making voter itself the next day (or Night with a vigilante etc).
