If say, a 10 lb object was suspended in a magnetic field created by two magnets that weigh 3 lbs each. If you measured the net weight of this assembly, would it weigh 16lbs, or 6 lbs?

Take two regular magnets. Push the poles so they repel - you can feel that push on both sides, correct? Same thing.
Great! Thanks for the info. I would have bet that the weight added, as I knew no law of physics that would allow the weight to disapear. But physics can be tricky and not follow what one would think is common sense.
