Is there a maximum number of records that Word can handle in a mailmerge?
I am trying to merge some 3500 records into a fairly complex Word document, and when the merge is performed, it gets to 400 records or so quite quickly and then approaches treacle-lick velocity. I left it running over my lunch break and it only got to 1300 before essentially grinding to a halt.
Any ideas?
Gp
Try breaking up your data source into four different files (875 records per file) and running the mail merge 4 times.
Of course, I don’t know how much memory you have, what your resources look like, what your processor speed is, etc.
By the way, I found nothing indicating a maximum number of records for a mail merge in Word 2K, just a maximum number of fields (63, in case you’re wondering).
Good luck!
