Checks sky: clear. Something’s not right here, things in the sky is normally overcast
I had a pretty good view of this, the southern version, from 26000’ this morning.
Couldn’t see anything, moon is out still, air is hazy, lots of light pollution. But we did spot a decent meteor and some lightning bugs, so a pretty good night.
There’s a 30-minute forecast here, based on solar activity measured by satellites at the L1 point between the Sun and the Earth. If you’re within a short drive of a decent darkish sky, that should be enough warning to hop in the car and get to a decent viewing site. And the moon should be sitting around midnight-ish.
Woo! Just saw some vague, shiftong greenish blobs on the horizon from the middle-est of nowhere that I could find on the RI/CT border!
