The Trewes - Highway of Heroes
By the way, you’re absolutely right about Lighthouse; I completely forgot they did “Sunny Days,” which is a classic song and can’t be left off. That song alone would merit inclusion.
If we were keeping this to 3 discs I’d dump another 80s white guy band, like Honeymoon Suite, who I have no problem with or anything but we have too many bands like that.
I admit my mix CDs also almost completely omit:
- Quebecois music, which I simply am not sufficiently informed about, and
- Straight up country music, which I simply hate.
Oh, and we both forgot Sloan.
This is actually a much harder exercise than I thought, and if I did it again today I’d probably come up with very different mixes. Honestly, I’d like to make a 5-disc set at this point.
No worries man; you’re not alone.
Brendan Kelly: English Canada continues to ignore the country’s franco culture
Quebec-Separatists are gleeful in claiming that Canada ‘appropriates/assimilates’ Quebecois cultural elements in creating a wider Canadian identity while Quebec-Canadians are angry that ROCains are not assimilating enough of Quebec’s cultural elements…
Bienvenue au Quebec; where culture is a serious political issue.
Also as a Bluenoser, I feel I should indoctrinate everyone that plans on becoming new “come-from-aways.”
