Make a decision for me......Please???

I’ve owned five cars in two years. Obviously I’m bad at buying cars.
So tell me what to buy. I’ll tally up the votes and buy just that. Mold me, for I am clay…
Thanks
Torie

Try motorbikes

No; you’re very good at buying cars. I couldn’t buy cars at that rate if I made it my life’s work :stuck_out_tongue:

ok, ok I’m good at buying cars. I’m bad at buying cars that LAST.

On a serious note, I have a two year old Hyundai Accent that’s a good, cheap car. It’s not fancy, and bragging rights don’t come with it, even as an accessory, but it works fine for me, a person who knows almost nothing about cars.

Come to think of it, with your track record, that 5 years of roadside assistance which comes with it might come in handy, too!

I bought my Mom’s 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix off her back in '97. I ran the thing until '02. Kept it up with regular maintenance, oil changes, tire rotations, etc.

The only problem I’d ever had was when the fuel filter clogged up, and I had to replace it. Beyond that, it rattled a little bit, but no problems otherwise.

But now I’ve got a truck and I’m much happier.

I can haul sheetrock now.

torie, are you just looking for a durable car? Saturns are pretty durable, as long as you follow the maintenance schedule (3000 mile checkups, etc.).

I second the Saturn. Good little car, reliable, easy to maintain, decent-looking, comfortable. Nothin’ fancy, and reasonably affordable. Plus no dickering at the dealer - they’re priced, that’s what you pay, and they often have very good finance rates.

I’m driving a Kia Rio that I’m very happy with. It also has the five years roadside assistance and a great warranty.

Another vote for Saturn, although I’m now driving a Ford Focus hatchback. But I’ve only had that since May, so I can’t speak personally to its long term reliability. But Saturn’s quality is good and service is excellent.

Try a Jaguar. No, not this or this, but this.

If survivability is your problem, how about this?

Get a Hummer!!! I do mean the vehicle!! Pervs!!

We love our Subaru Forester–very dependable and good on all different kinds of road conditions. Plus, it is small enough to park and drives like a car, not a truck.

On the other hand, if you are going for cute, I also love my Beetle.

Honda Accord. If you want to spend less, get a Civic.

It might be helpful to know WHY you had to buy 5 cars in two year. Were they new cars? If not, how old were they? Did they die from mechanical failure, or were there accidents involved?

(BTW, I’ve bought exactly 3 cars in 30 years, by choice.)

Honda Civic, or Mazda anything.

You can run the wheels off of them.

For more money, go with a volvo.

Try a used Lexus ES 300. I’ve got 230,000 miles on mine and it still runs like a charm. Routine maintenance only since I got it new. No breakdowns, no tows. The dealer says I can expect 350,000 miles out of it.

Civic. If you don’t mind cheap and small. Mine is 11 years old, 175,000 miles, having been abused mercilessly, (even some mild off-roading), absolute minimum maintenance I can get away with. Never had a problem.

I’ll throw in another Saturn vote. I’ve had 3 now, never had a problem with any of them.
