My family donates to Make A Wish every year. I admire the work they do for critically ill kids.
Frank Shankwitz and his wife started the charity in 1980. They’ve fulfilled 500,000 wishes in 40 years! 
It’s humbling how such a basic concept can improve the lives of so many children and their families. Frank was a Department of Public Safety officer that wanted to help sick kids. It started by helping a child with lukemina. He dreamed of becoming a Highway Patrol officer.
